Our Story

Meet Jonathan & Betty, The people behind Paradox.

Paradox was created by Jonathan and Betty, a couple brought together by a shared love of hospitality, travel, design and the kind of places that stay with you long after you leave.

After years spent running and experiencing hotels, restaurants and hospitality concepts around the world, they wanted to create something of their own, not a large, anonymous hotel, but a place with personality. Somewhere intimate, warm and thoughtfully designed, where guests could feel completely looked after without ever feeling overly formal.

Hoi An felt like the natural place to bring that idea to life.

Together, Jonathan and Betty have shaped every part of Paradox themselves. From the colors and materials to the rooms, furniture, lighting, guest experience and the smallest design details. The result reflects both of them : a mix of European influences, tropical Vietnamese surroundings, relaxed hospitality and a slightly unconventional approach to what a boutique hotel should be.

For them, Paradox isn't simply a place to sleep.

It's the kind of place they would want to discover while travelling themselves, somewhere beautiful and comfortable, considered but unpretentious, social when you want it to be and peaceful when you don't.
